A second meeting in Manchester the following year confirmed that interest in Low Flow Anaesthesia was alive and kicking.
Again delegates came from far and wide.

| Vaporizer in Circuit, Current Investigations | David White | England |
| Medico-Legal Aspects of Inhalational Anaesthesia | Chris Hull | England |
| **Direct Injection Techniques | Geoff Lockwood | England |
| **The Carbon Monoxide Story | Jan Baum | Germany |
| Debate: Inhalational Anaesthesia vs TIVA | Peter Hutton and Terry McMurray | England |
| **Cost Effectiveness: Semi-Closed and Circle Systems Compared | David Humphrey | South Africa |

Nigel Harper again organised the meeting. It was held in the summer holidays and so attendance was down. A lesson learned!
However it was clear that there was plenty of interest in the subject of Low Flow Anaesthesia and over a beer or two a group of enthusiasts decided to for an Association to carry on from what Nigel had started.
