ALFA was formed in 1995 to promote the safe clinical use of and research into the responsible use of volatile agents in anaesthesia. Though based in the UK, ALFA has an international membership of over 300 anaesthetists (including veterinary), chemists, physicists and engineers. We hold an annual symposium, usually alternating meetings between the UK and other countries within Europe.
